Shami still willing to develop new skills to push his game: LSG coach Crowe

KOLKATA: Mohammed Shami, 35, is not getting any younger but the pacer’s zeal and hunger for improvement has not dimmed.“You’re never too old to learn a new skill,” Lucknow Super Giants spin-bowling coach Carl Crowe said while talking about the former India pacer.

“It was just four days ago that I saw Shami working on that new ball (variation) that got Abhishek (Sharma) out with our bowling coach Bharat Arun. He’s still very willing to develop new skills to try and push his game,” Crowe said.No wonder former India captain Sourav Ganguly on Wednesday also backed the pacer for a return to the national team. “Shami should be bowling at the other end of Jasprit Bumrah, nowhere else. That’s how good he is,” Ganguly said.
